Q.What is OnGuardHelp?

OnGuardHelp is a Smartphone application developed to enhance the safety of people. A person facing a crisis or emergency situation can with the tap on one of the APP’s five function buttons quickly communicate via their Smartphone either with an audio call, a text (SMS) message, a 911 call, contact a professional service center agent, or discretely connect with a professionally trained agent who can listen to the conversation and determine which emergency facility should be contacted. With Real Time GPS capability, on both the text message, or at the service center. The user’s Smartphone device location is made immediately available on the contact’s Smartphone (if capable) via the text message, or OnGuardHelp’s Crisis Monitoring Center agent’s computer monitor.

Q.How exactly does the OnGuardHelp APP protect me?

This unique Smartphone application enables a user to send a security alert in the form of an audio call or text (SMS) to the telephone number entered into the user’s setup screen on the APP. Apart from generating alerts and emergency messages with Real Time GPS location capabilities, the application is also integrated with additional options that can call the nearest 911-dispatch, or communicate audibly or silently with a professionally trained agent at one of three OnGuardHelp central monitoring centers.

Q.How do I get this APP?

The OnGuardHelp APP is built to run on the iPhone, iPad, or Android platforms with an operating 2.3.6, 4.0.x and 4.1. The OnGuardHelp app can be downloaded at the iTunes store or from the Google Play store. To activate the APP’s premium services the subscriber will be directed to the www.OnGuardHelp.com website.

Q.How does the APP work?

The application works on most smartphones and tablets. The iPad must have a phone service subscription to download the APP. Whether an Apple or Android operating system. Once the application is downloaded and an OnGuardHelp Premium Silver or Gold Plan is subscribed to, Real Time GPS is activated. In the event of an emergency, the user’s location can be displayed using Google Map on the contact’s Smartphone (if capable) and at the OnGuardHelp’s Crisis Monitoring Center. When the OnGuard Talk or Silent Buttons are tapped, the call is connected with the Monitoring Center and the agent’s computer display will pinpoint the exact location of the user. If the user sends a text (SMS) message to their Contact I or II, it will splash a notification of SMS on the contact’s smartphone displaying a help text message and the user’s GPS location information.

Q.When should I use the APP or send an alert?

At any time you feel unsafe, threatened or in imminent danger, such as walking alone at night in a dangerous environment or unfamiliar location, you can make use of this application to ensure your safe homecoming. Send alerts of your whereabouts to your family or First Responders whenever you feel a threat of attack or assault is eminent. You can use your APP to seek help during medical emergencies, accidents, fire, burglary or even facing the frustration of your car breaking down in a rural area and you need roadside assistance.

Q.What type of message will the Contacts see?

When you press either Contact I or II, the pop-up screen will ask you to make a choice of either placing a call or sending a text (SMS). A call is made to the receiver’s phone device that is entered by the user at the setup screen. It is simply a convenient speed dial to either a friend, parent, or an emergency first responder who can respond to your emergency, such as campus security in the case of a college student. The text (SMS) differs in that a pre-defined message will be sent to the contact’s phone and if the contact’s phone is capable and enabled to receive your SMS, your location details will be displayed on their device’s Google map.

Q.How do I manage my profile?
A.

Once you download the APP, click on the app icon on your Smartphone. After accepting the disclosure agreement, you will see a screen to create a user profile by filling in your name, email, phone number and address.

Q.How do I add phone numbers on which the alert will be sent?
A.

In the home screen on your OnGuardHelp APP, click the Contact-I button and a new screen will allow you to enter the details. Similarly, by upgrading to a Silver or Gold premium plan, you can add the Contact-II button details.

Q.How many Contacts can I add?
A.

Both Contact I and II will each accept information for eight contacts.

Q.Can I make changes to my Contact information?
A.

Yes, you control the information at the setting screen.

Q.Is there a fee to use the APP?
A.

Yes. The silver plan is $1.99/Month and the gold plan is $6.99/Month. The first month is free.

Q.Am I going to be forced to sign a multi-year purchase contract?
A.
